What cloth diapering system will you be using and why?

I feel like I'm never done researching cloth diapers. 😛

I actually thought I wanted to use AI2's but after reading up on every type I decided to buy multiple diapers of each kind. I've seen that fitteds and a wool cover hold up better over night, prefolds hold in runny newborn poop better, and the others are great for everyday. I like that with pockets you can adjust the absorbency to your babies needs. AIO's would take a while to dry but I got a few. I'm a first time cloth diaperer so once I find something that works I'll know more.

When I first heard of cloth diapering... I wanted the best and easiest..

I thought All in Ones (AIO) were the way to go....

But as I kept learning, reading and looking for cloth diapers.. I decided the best for me would be waterproof covers and inserts/prefolds.

I have a total of 3 covers and 12 bamboo charcoal inserts as well as 12 prefolds.

That's it for my stash. I didn't want a big huge stash of cloth diapers and I surely couldn't afford a big stash. I paid about $100-$130 for my stash and it works put great for us.

The all in ones sound great but in reality it was more of a waste in my eyes..

I like that with the covers and inserts,  I just need to change the insert.

I'm going with flats because they will ALWAYS be the right size for my baby and i can adjust the location and amount of absorbancy.  I originally was going to just use pul covers but i was gifted some really soft pockets and inserts so i figure those would be really nice for when she starts sleeping through the night.  A flat to hold poo's and and insert for extra absorbancy.  We'll see!

I'm doing a combo of prefolds, flats and fitteds for my newborn till we figure out what works for us. Have thirstiest, nickis, and flips covers and FSTs and GMD prefolds. Also have some preloved WAHM newborn fitteds.
