Not a first-time mom but my first pregnancy....
Anyone else in the same boat?
Long story short, the odds of me getting pregnant were incredibly low (and fertility treatments wreaked havoc on my body), so my husband and I adopted. We waited 3 years for our baby girl, who is now 15 months old. Then last week at a routine Pap smear I found out I'm pregnant! (Still kind of in shock!)
So even though every child is different, I'm not too nervous about bringing home a new baby.... We've done the newborn thing. In fact, we've done the newborn thing while staying out of state for two weeks waiting for our legal paperwork to clear through two state government offices over Christmas holidays while hubby had the flu! I'm more just nervous about being pregnant for the first time. Anyone else experiencing the same thing?
Side note: I swear, if one more friend/family member tells me this happened because we "finally relaxed," I'm going to strangle someone.... The last 6 months have been anything but relaxing. My mother-in-law has been very sick, in and out of the hospital, at times even living with us. I actually thought the reason I had skipped a period was because I was so stressed out from caring for her. Sorry, just had to have that rant!
