Is it wrong to date your friend's ex?

My friend is dating my exe and I can't help but feel jealous. I feel more like HE'S dating my her to make me jealous, but whenever he's around me he acts like we're still dating. But at the same time SHE shows him off whenever she's around me........

Me and my ex were together for 2 years. And it didnt work out. My best friend was the only there for me telling me he doesnt deserve me and hes an ass hole. Amd they ended up dating. I thought it as soo wrong. I was soo mad. But not im dating his friend and we are soo happy together. I realize now that you cant help who you are happy with. And it probably didnt work out with him for a reason.

Okay so my friend dated this guy in 6th grade and we're currently juniors in high school. I stated going out with him and he doesn't even remember they dated and she's not okay with me dating a guy she kind of went out with 6 years ago.... Soooo in that case I think it's fine to date him, I am! And if she doesn't support you then that's her problem. My best friend dated my ex that I dated for quite a long time. To be totally honest, at first it was hard, but then I rememebered it didn't work out between us for some reason and if they made eachother happy I wasn't going to get in the way, after all, she's my best friend and I want her to be happy, and he's my ex and I don't want to see him miserable, and all 3 of us eventually became the 3 best friends and if they were ever in an argument they both could come to me and talk and I'd help them work it out. So many people say "no it's a violation of girl code" okay, maybe in high school terms. Sure I get it. Jealously is a natural emotion and it's okay to feel it. But talk to your friend about how it makes you feel. Now, if he's a completely jerk and will abide her in any type of way then I would understand not wanting them together. But you don't want to ruin a friendship over a guy. Once you grow older and move on you'll realize how silly it all is. I hope it helps :)

This post an the comments have actually been really helpful in my own situation because I've been struggling with strong feelings for my ex's best friend... I think I'm going to talk to my other friend who dated the guy I like and broke his heart just to see why she broke up with him and to maybe talk to her about how she would feel if I started going out with him. And I really hope that my ex can understand that my crush makes me really happy and that he won't hold it against me or his best friend.

I dated this guy gavn awhile back and God I was in love . But he was a terrible person to me and I knew that I didn't deserve that but I kept going back , I could feel him pulling away and I tried to get him back by having sex with him . The next day , he texted me and told me that he couldn't do this anymore and didn't feel the same way about me and I took it badly because I knew I KNEW that he had liked my best friend Alyssa , I had asked and asked about it over and over again and he always denied it . But I took some time to myself and got over it , I didn't talk to either of them for 2-3 months while they started a relationship. It still hurts sometimes but I'm in a better relationship now then I was with him and Alyssa's happy with him and if he's good to her I don't really care. But we don't talk about him unless it's something really important .

This question is sticky. I answered yes, but if this is a good friend of yours and she comes to you to let you know how she's feeling about your ex before actually dating then I think that's fine.... other than that I would try and let her know how you feel

Your an adult your relationship is over so why shouldn't she? Not saying I would make that choice but its her choice to trust he's not trying to make you jealous. But that's prob the plan and its something she brought on herself. Chill out and try to not think too much about it. It would be sad to end a friendship over something like this.
