False ultrasound?

I found out I was having a girl at 15 weeks I'm now 17 weeks and 4 days and I've had my doctors and many people tell me to not trust an ultrasound gender reveal at 15 weeks. The tec. Said it was a girl and she pointed at the "vagina" after 30 minutes of trying to figure it out...has anyone ever been told you were definitely having a certain gender by the ultrasound tec. And then come to find out its the other sex? my doctor told me to she had to babies and each time she did the 15 week gender reveal they told her she'd have a girl but they both came out boys...?

Yep, at 13 weeks I was told that baby was a boy, but I paid for a private 3D  ultrasound at 15 weeks and found out I'm actually having a little girl! Babies look the same until about 15 weeks, which is usually why doctors wait until 18-22 weeks to do gender scans.

The ultrasound tech at my doctors office isn't allowed to comment on sex until the doctor confirms it lol they won't even try until 20w because they don't want to give someone the wrong sex and they go on a shopping spree just to return everything lol doctors wording anyways lol

I also should point out that not all "technicians" at the elective (for profit) ultrasound places are necessarily qualified to make the call, especially that early. I'm sure most are just fine but those places are not hospitals or doctors offices that require specific education and training. Just something to keep in mind. I hope what they told you is correct! 😊

When my mother had my youngest sibling they told her it was a boy the entire pregnancy and they bought all boy clothes and stuff and then they told her at 36 weeks that she was actually having a girl lol

So maybe there IS still hope for me! Haha.. The tech told me she was 80% sure we are having our 4th boy at 12 weeks 6 days, but I'm not entirely convinced until I see the next ultrasound. I'm holding out hope for the possibility of a girl still. 😜

With my first they told me at 20 weeks that she was 99% sure she was a girl but to keep the tags on everything. 
I was so nervous and bought everything gender neutral and kept the tags on everything girly I got from my baby shower. 
But they were right and she was a girl. 
However, I could see how it would be easier to mistake a boy for a girl so early on.

Did the ultrasound tech get a variety of angles and/or get the baby to move a bit when checking genitals? You have me all paranoid now!
