Baby shower and my MIL
So my MIL offered to host and plan my baby shower. Ever since then, I have been trying to bring it up to nail down a date but she has been unresponsive, just kind of "whatever". She has a lot going on, just got back from Mexico, her daughter just had her thyroid removed, she runs a successful real estate business, and is planning a trip to Europe in September. But all I want is a date so we can get invites ordered and my family can request time off work if needed. I suggested June 4th or 11th. I am due August 4th.
A little back story, she had offered to plan my bridal shower and forgot, so I didn't get one, which is why I am trying to nail down details so far out. We also got married at her house and she would brush aside my questions about that as well when I was trying to nail down details.
My friend who offered to help plan thinks I am too worried about it because it's still two months away. My mom,who also offered to plan it if we can hold it at my MIL house, understands why I'm irritated, but thinks I'm too stressed about it. Should I ask again? I just want a date and commitment. I will plan the damn thing myself if I have to, I just don't have the space at my house. Am I crazy? Is two months out too soon?
