There's absolutely no reason why there's a problem buying used clothes or toys for a child! They outgrow things so fast and as long as you clean everything very well there's no problem! It saves money and your child wouldn't know the difference!

You can sterilise them yourself. So I see no harm in it. So far my cot and bassinet are second hand.

But if you'd for kids I don't see an issue can just clean them really good

I'm not keen on buying things he's only using for 6 months so we shopped at consignment stores and found a boppy for $12 and a rock and play for $30. Other things I wouldnt buy used but toys, definitely
