Need suggestions

My husband and I just bought a house. We had some repairs done before we moved in, one of which was to have our kitchen ceiling stained (it's wood). It still smells like the stain they used and makes me sick every time I'm in the kitchen. Any suggestions on how to neutralize the smell or how to mange the morning sickness? TIA!
