Extreme thirst? Diabetic?

Do extreme thirst mean that I'm diabetic? I'm not dehydrated but I've been so thirsty lately & nothing helps! I know that I'm at high risk for becoming a diabetic so what were some signs that some of you ladies experienced before being diagnosed? My mom, grandmom, grandfather & aunt are diabetics. This has popped out of nowhere as well as horrible headaches!

Before I got diagnosed with type 2. I was ALWAYS thirsty and nothing would cure my thirst. And I was always going to the bathroom because of it. That was a major sign that I was diabetic. But of course I didn't know. Then I had no appetite, everything I drank or ate, I couldn't keep down, I was constantly throwing up. I went into Ketoacidosis because of it, almost died.

I'm type 1 you should go get tested asap are you going to the bathroom constantly that's another high sign ! Please don't wait I almost waited to long and almost died from it!! Let me no if you need someone to talk to

How do you know you're not dehydrated? I mean... That's what it sounds like to me.
