How did you found out you had pcos?

I had not had a period for over two months and was having pain and pressure. She did a vaginally ultrasound. I started taking metformin the day after finally getting my period after a 71 day cycle with no menstral. I was 23.

I had infertility with amenorrhea and my dr did an ultrasound and saw the string of pearls on my ovaries. I was 20.

I just had irregular periods and when I went to the doctor for my first transvaginal ultrasound she saw the cysts. Then she had me get my blood drawn and test it for any hormonal imbalances, nothing major there but I had multiple ultrasounds and the cysts were always there, small but many of them! I have never had an ultrasound that hasn't shown cysts. However, you can say that I'm lucky because I've never had one rupture and I never had to get a surgery to remove one!  It's harder to loose weight, especially around the belly area and in some cases women get a lot of unwanted hair!

It is different for everyone. My only symptom was late ovulation in my monthly cycle but was confirmed after an ultrasound to look at my eggs. My eggs were essentially dying off before they were being released because of the delay. I have regular monthly periods and do get positive ovulation tests.
