Coffee?????

So I was wondering I'm planning on breastfeeding and just want to know can you drink coffee while breastfeeding? If so am I limited on how many culs?

I'm personally not going to drink coffee while breast feeding because it can make baby have unnecessar gas. But it won't hurt baby none! :) I might have a cup or 2 if we go our for breakfast but it won't harm baby at all :)

Yes! So many coffees you will need to get you through the day! In the first 2-3 months I abstained to make sure I was doing the best for my baby blah blah blah. I was literally sleep walking all day long. When I started drinking coffee again I noticed it had NO affect on my baby's behavior or digestion or anything. By the end of our nursing relationship I was drinking 3-4 cups daily and eating whatever I wanted. Most babies are not affected. You mainly want to watch out for allergies like dairy, nuts, gluten. You have to observe baby and see if they're displaying any signs of discomfort or rashes. I ate everything and my girl is not allergic to anything.

My cousins baby is not affected by coffee, but had severe eczema from birth. She finally did allergy testing after about 4-5 months and it turns out he's allergic to almost everything: dairy, eggs, gluten, nuts, soy, beans, bananas, tomatoes, coconut, corn. When she cut those foods from her own diet his eczema cleared almost completely and his poops were no longer runny all the time. She's still nursing him at 12 months and just needs to be strict with her diet.
