Did you masturbate or have sex first? Were you disappointed or pleasantly surprised when you first experienced masturbation after sex (or vice versa)? And do you think it has made you closer to or more distant from your S/O?

I started masturbating as a teenager, long before I had sex. I think it's made my sexual relationships more satisfying, because I know how my body works and I know what kind of stimulation I need in order to cum. Now that I'm married, I still masturbate fairly regularly. Sometimes it's something we do together, sometimes I'll masturbate on my own and then go seduce him, and sometimes I just feel like focusing on my own orgasm. My DH masturbates on his own sometimes, too.

I only started masturbating after I had sex. I actually think it has helped me with my relationships with men. Bc I've taken the time to learn what I like and don't and I have more satisfactory  sex. I am much more comfortable with my body and my pleasure. 
I think it's unfortunate how so many women feel ashamed by masturbation.
