How much clothing for newborn?

I just had my baby shower and am trying to figure out what we still need to get before the baby comes. The major stuff I know but clothing I have no idea! My mom suggested counting all the clothing I have in each size so I know what to still buy... the only problem being I have no clue how much I need! Any advice in terms of onesies, outfits, etc in each size? Totally clueless ftm here 🙈

Don't base it off that..Babies grow quickly and you end up having things they never wore.i suggest with the clothing you go along day by day if you see that something is necessary then you buy it..But trust me buying a bunch of clothes will be a waste..

If wash all the newborn and 0-3 months first and have about two onesies for each day and a couple sleepier a. I had four onesies and like 4-5 sleepers cause we procrastinated and I noticed I had my baby naked most of the time since I was breastfeeding

Everyone has so many more baby clothes then I do! I have four onesies, four "going-out" outfits, four church dresses, six sleepers, and four warm sleep sacks. I do laundry pretty much everyday but that is for the whole family! 
As for the newborn v. 0-3 debate- I washed two newborn outfits (a going home outfit and a sleeper) and left the tags of the rest of that size. I washed all my 0-3. It ended up being a good call. I just returned all of my newborn outfits and got 3-6 clothing. 
My daughter was 8 pounds 11 ounces at birth (20 inches) and only got into newborn for a few days. We went straight to 0-3. 
You should probably get some newborn clothes but get them from somewhere with a good return policy! And don't wash them unless you know you needed them

Well for one thing you can never have too many spit up blankets! And onesies I'd get about 15-20 from 0-3 month because your baby grows fast! But all babies grow different.  The little bibs I'd grab about 5-6 a good amount of socks. A few hats.  And if you plan on more babies in your future keep those hand Mr downs I've got 4 girls I'm on baby #5 so hand me downs were a must for us 😋

My daughter is 3w 3d and her nb sizes are starting to get a little tight but most of her 0-3m are still a little loose lol. She has aldo graduated to a size 1 diaper this week 😁 I would say start out with 10-14nb outfits, and 25-30, 0-3m outfits.

How often do you want to do laundry?  Lol. I'd 'budget' based on three changes per day and multiply that by how many days worth of clothing you want to have. I'd like to have about five days worth of stuff so I'm not constantly doing laundry.

My son was out if nb clothing in a week. He was just at 8 lbs and a few oz. Just keep receipts!

I am not sure either as I am a FTM, but my general rule of thumb is to have at least 7 NB/0-3 outfits and 14 onesies in each size. They grow so fast that any more than that probably won't get any use. Of course, I would have more of the bigger sizes (3-6, 6-9), but newborn and 0-3 seem to not get used as much. And if you have a week's worth of outfits, just throw a load of laundry in to refresh. I usually do 2 loads of laundry a week for my husband and I, so another small load for baby clothes won't make much of a difference. Hope that helps!

As far as clothing goes you will need plenty onsies due to the fact accidents happen and if your like me outside of the accidents normally you will change a onsies 3 or more times a day. Clothes wise as far as outfits in the summer I had to go out and get more outfits because it was hot and we did something almost everyday! Winter you don't really need much clothing until baby becomes bigger because it's cold so I'm sure you won't be going that many places so I advise just get sleepers for in the house.
