At what age did you introduce a pacifier and still were successful with exclusive breastfeeding?

My daughter is getting used to using me as a pacifier and is making it hard to get her to sleep more than an hour she's 10 days old. I worry about nipple confusion and don't want to mess up what success I do have with breastfeeding but have heard to wait until LO is 3 months old before introducing bottle or pacifier. What's everyone's opinion/experiences?

When my baby girl was 2 days old. She's now 2 months old and still breast feeds, drinks from a bottle, and uses her pacifier on a regular basis.

Gave it to her at 1 month and she wasn't into it. She preferred me big time. She's stopped using me .. I think that happened around 2-3 months. She sucks on her hands now (not really her thumb tho - haha) she is 6 months now

My son used one from he very beginning. The first month or so was a struggle because he had a lazy latch so I had to pump too but it wasn't because of the pacifier because I tried not to give it to him too much the first week or so and still had the problems.

I was taught at our breast-feeding class that if you want the baby to take a bottle you need to introduce it between 3 to 4 weeks old so that it will not only choose the breast but also take from a bottle. I don't think pacifiers are confusing as they don't give you any type of food it's a different type of pleasure.

Just after 3 weeks ... No confusion except for the one time I held him and tried feeding him with bottle ... He only gets a bottle from daddy now and that's only a couple times a week

We used one at 2 days old and she was terrible at latching after that. We started again at 4 weeks with no problem this time.

NICU gave my lo a pacifier from day 1. She's 7 wks now and no confusion. We introduced bottles this week to prep for daycare, no problems with nursing. She really only wants her pacifier when she's fighting sleep.
