Anemia in 3rd trimester?

Hey lady's just wondering how many of you got a positive for anemia in your 3rs trimester. What did the doctor say or give you? I have to take 2 iron pills a day and my body cannot take so much of it. It makes me sick.

Me too! I was told to take two, but they made me sick and i told my doctor i cant take how sick i got so she told me One at night after dinner will do

I haveto take 325MG 3times a day it sucks but if I don't take them I can barley get out of bed...

I have to take it also.   I take one in the morning after I eat breakfast and I take one at night.   Doctor started me off on one pill, now I have to take two.  I find taking them both at night doesn't bother me conjugated to taking them during the day.  Just make sure you have food in you!

I am anemic also, I have zero energy and I'm Always tired but can't sleep. I'm taking iron supplements but they don't seem to be doing anything but give me worse heartburn than I already have. I'm thinking it's not enough. I go back to see my OB in 2 weeks so I'll see what she says. I'm so sick of being this tired I have too much to do!

I was just told im severely anemic and have to take 3 iron pills a day i will start that tmrw morning..i feel that 3 pills is so much on top of my prenatals 😩

Yup, I'm taking a liquid supplement called Floradix, rather than the pills. 
It is absorbed more readily, as the iron is bound to glucose, rather than a salt, so your body takes it up quickly. Also, as it is in a liquid form it doesn't sit as heavily in your gut.  
Floradix also has B vitamins and vitamin C to aid in absorption, and grape juice extract to help with constipation, which was my main concern with taking iron, (sorry for TMI) as I am already dealing with it sometimes, thus far I haven't had a problem.

Ive been on these since my first 13weeks hospital  visit as well as vitamin c to help absorb  the iron.. im now 30w1day ..last pregnancy  i was anemic and bloods in this early pregnancy  were abit low  already.. im going to continue even after birth for a while as not sure how labour will go or levels after :)

Yes - I started slow fe last week and have felt somewhat better I was having a lot of symptoms and had labs drawn which showed anemia .. I was 29 weeks

I got diagnosed as mildly anemic I am taking 'slow fe' at the recommendation of my doctor. She said do not take with your other vitamins/prenatal as it lowers absorption so I take mine in the am and my prenatal at night

My doctor recommended Feosol. I've been on it for about 2 weeks now and haven't had any negative side effects.
