Cytotec for induction?

Anybody ever had it done? Being induced Sunday at midnight and my cervix is high, tight and hard still..

This is how my doctor tried on the 11th (my due date) she gave me two doses. So within the 8-9 hours total that I was at the hospital I had no change. My cervix was still at 60% baby was at -1 station and still 1cm dilated. I'm going back Monday for another try if it doesn't happen before.

They used cytotec when I was induced last Wednesday....didn't really do much. Got me from high and tight to less than 1 cm in 8 hours. Pitocin was started at 7:30am Thursday and by 4;15pm I was fully dilated and pushing baby arrived at 8;15pm. Best wishes for a happy healthy momma and baby, you'll do great!!

I've heard that cytotec isn't a good stuff to use and can cause complications even death. I'm shocked there are doctors who still use it.

Cytotec is actually not fda approved for inducing labor and not recommended by most doctors. It's meant for other uses. Cervadil is a lot safer and pitocin. I'd never use Cytotec under any circumstances. Do research on it.

I was induced on April 1st and that's what was used first. I have 2.5cm and 75% effaced when it was started. I started having mild contractions 30 minutes after and 8 hours later I was at 6cm and my contractions were coming every 2-3 minutes although they were uncomfortable, they were tolerable. Then they started pitocin and then broke my water. 1.5 hours after my water was broke, baby was born.
