Obese??? Little weight gain

Question

So when I found out I was pregnant I was already labeled "obese" however I don't think I looked obese. See the 7 week picture below. My dr said to try not to gain more than 13 lbs and I've done it somehow!! So far I am up 8 lbs so I am hoping I won't gain much more than another 5 in these last 9 weeks but who knows! If I'm able to pull this off will I weigh less than my starting weight??? I'm really hoping cause j hate that label of "obese"!!!

I don't understand at all how you're "obese". You look FANTASTIC!! There's a difference between curves and obesity. You just look curvy to me. Totally jealous actually!!

Anyway truly don't worry about the weight. With my first I started out 125 ended at 210. I lost it all and then some. I really do think it was breast feeding because I didn't do anything else. Lol!! Well I did start eating breakfast but that's it.

First of all... Wtf?! Obese?! Not even close! You look very healthy... Obese seems to be a very loose term thrown around now-a-days. According to your OB I was probably morbidly obese to start with 😂 
But seriously, you look great and maybe get a different doctor next time around? He sounds a little harsh

I would punch my doctor. You're not obese. If you gain, you gain. It's mostly fluid, blood and baby anyway. You'll most likely drop it after delivery.

I see people saying things like this all the time and it baffles me.

I was overweight to start with but my dr never said "you can't gain past this amount, etc" I feel link that would put so much pressure on you as a person and could even trigger like eating disorders in people.

😔 I started this pregnancy at 170 (and I'm 5'2") I've put on 20 lbs so far. I'm hoping not to put on much more. With my first I gained 40.

I started obese and I've only gained 5 pounds.. My doctor never mentioned my weight at all..

I started out "obese" too and my doctor said that I shouldn't gain more than 15 lbs.  I lost 9 in my first trimester and so far I've only gained 7 back.  So I'm really proud of myself.  I know 9 weeks is a lot of time but I hope I can keep on track and not gain a bunch of weight in the end.

Dr told me not to gain more than 10 lbs. I lost 10 lbs in the first trimester and so far I've gained 4 lbs from pre pregnancy but 14 lbs since I lost 10 lbs and gained them back. I have 7 weeks left and 6 lbs to gain. I feel like I'm bound to go over the 10 lbs.

Don't stress about the label! I'm in the same boat! Doctors go by BMI which doesn't take into account things like muscle mass, and body frame! I have always been overweight or obese according to the BMI scale, even when I was wearing a size 6-8! You look fantastic and good for you with the weight control, regardless! I was aiming for less than 15, and I've been steady at 20, but I haven't been gaining much for the last few weeks, which I think will continue with my strict gestational diabetes diet. 😜 Good luck mama! You look wonderful and you're doing great!

If your doctor says your obese, I hope he never sees me... I've gained 32 pounds in 28 weeks.
