Friends with people who have AIDS or HIV positive?

Question

Do you have any friends with aids or hiv? How does it effect how you feel about them? If your kid had a friend at school with aids would you let them do the same things as kids without aids such as sleepovers?

I have a coworker with aids and it really never comes up. He does have a thing about opening soda bottles because he sliced himself open pretty bad doing it once. Had to get a whole mess of stitches! So now if we get Mexican sodas at work we open them for him. Other than that he's a completely normal dude.

Contracting HIV by any other way than having sex or sharing needles is damn near impossible. I have a friend with HIV and I treat him no different than anyone else I know. When I have kids I won't keep them from him or anyone else with the disease.

I don't know anyone with hiv/aids (that I know of) but I wouldn't treat them any different than anyone else.  I would let my kids be friends with a child with hiv/aids, I would just make sure my children understood what it was and what to do if their friend ever got hurt and was bleeding.

Wouldn't bother me at all, it's not like ebola lol. It's not transmitted as easily as people think it is. And ya if my kid had a friend with HIV I would be cool with it.

I've a few friends who live with aids/HIV+ and they're still wonderful people. Occasionally, I'll have to remind them about taking their pills but other than that it doesn't get in the way of our relationship.

We know and associate with people with HIV and AIDS more than we know. Unless we live under a rock

Its crazy I've never thought about it before. But then today it came up and I realized my knowledge level is really low on this topic.
