Anyone on here work overnights?

Question

I just took a job working overnights. 6-6am. I have a child who will be With grandma so I can sleep so that won't be a problem if I CAN SLEEP haha. Has anyone taken sleeping meds to help them? Any info on that would be great. I haven't heard anything good about sleeping meds.... But might be my only option if I run into problems

I used to work nights 1030pm-630am (I actually like working nights). Hopefully after a while you get used to it and your body will just get used to being asleep during the day and awake at night. At least That's how it was for me I would automatically sleep from about 7am when i got home to about 3/330 without needing an alarm clock 
Black out curtains would be my one suggestion

My husband worked nights before he took these all natural sleeping pills we got from vitamin cottage and also had a diffuser with a sleeping oil that seemed to help. Although it was extremely difficult. Good luck

My OB recommended I take unisom for morning sickness. Unisom is a sleep aide. It helped me sleep through the night and if it's safe to take while pregnant it shouldn't be too bad for you...

And B6 supplements help with energy, if you want something to help you in the morning that's not coffee.

I worked 5pm-5am and Advil pm was my best friend! Then coffee as soon as I wake up to keep me going through the night.

I've used zzzquil from time to time. I've never had that "hangover" feeling.

I work 1030pm-7am every night. I'm so tired by the time I get off, I sure don't need anything for sleep. I'm sure you'll be tired enough by the time you get off, you probably won't need anything to help you sleep.
