Herbalife? Advocare? While pregnant

Question

Has anyone asked their doctor about taking meal replacement shakes? Like Herbalife and advocare? 
I plan to ask at my next appointment but that's in 2 weeks. I've been craving my Herbalife shakes! 
I'm ALWAYS hungry and at 14 weeks already gained 4 lbs so I'm curious as this may be a good snack option as well to curb my appetite.

I asked doc about a similar shake and was told as long as I didn't use it to replace a meal it was ok....so for example instead of choosing to eat a candy bar or chips I could drink the shake instead!

I've been making my own smoothie with a prenatal protein powder. It's called Mamalicious and I add whatever fruit and almond milk. I have it for breakfast since I'm not particularly hungry in the morning and don't have a lot of time.  A couple hours later I'll eat an apple. It's completely safe and so good for you with all the fruit :-)

I really wouldn't, Herbalife is not organic and is packed with chemicals. I would just eat normal foods, especially while pregnant.

Following. I don't have another appointment for a few weeks and I forgot to ask. I used to drink Herbalife daily pre-pregnancy but stopped once I found out. I have had one maybe three times though when I can't stomach the thought of food for a meal and figure that's better than not eating!!! And has tons of nutrients.

I quit taking everything .. I take in isopure protein shakes but just recently or u can try vega shakes all natural plant based and no extras

I asked my OB and she said I can continue taking Herbalife shakes but I asked her if it was okay as long as I'm having other snacks with it not just the shake as a meal replacement, and she said yes. :) I also asked her if I can consume the Aloe Vera and she said yes :)

I drink shakeology everyday.  I use it as a snack.  And it also has replaced my prenatal because of all of the vitamins in it.  My ob has approved it.  Let me know if you need more information.
