Drugs and contraception?

Do illegal drugs affect contraception? I'll be going on the pill to stop having periods over summer and as contraception, but i might end up smoking ect, will the pill be affected? Please comment too!

I doubt drugs will effect it but I do remember that if you smoke cigs and take the pill it increases the risk for blood clots :/ I don't want to try any other bc so I'll probly just keep doing the pill and smoking lol.
