Energy crisis
I was recently diagnosed with PCOS, after years of irregular periods (since puberty), constant stomach cramps, and TTC for around two years. I thought it could be a thyroid problem, since that runs in my family, and after I gained 50 lbs in about 4-5 months without changing my diet or exercise routine. I went from a nude model, to a recluse. Ever since the weight gain, I had noticed small amounts of body hair that I chalked up to aging, since a few odd hairs here and there is normal in my family, and my energy levels decreased dramatically. Suddenly, I went from working strenuous jobs, to barely having the energy to walk a few blocks. Is this a problem that anyone else deals with? I don't know for sure if it is a symptom of pcos, or just being 50lbs overweight. Does anyone have any ideas on what I can do to maybe fix it, or work around it? I'm currently taking Metformin, and have noticed odd spikes in low blood sugar, but that seems to be getting better and I'm now ready to work up to fixing everything else. I don't eat a whole lot, and I eat fairly healthily (very few carbs lately) and I don't eat very much. Is there any other diet that you've tried, or exercise routine that you could recommend? Thank you!
