My short birth story...as in short time

Virginia
I had an appointment with my OBGYN to check my blood pressure at 10 a.m. . It had already shot up with in the past few days so we didn't know what to expect. After my nurse checked it her eyes get huge. She asked if I had a head ache or was feeling OK. I said yes I just feel drained. Apparently it was stroke level. So my doctor ordered an emergency birth for hypertension. I got all my things and headed up to the ob triage. My boyfriend's work wouldn't let him go till my water broke. I get hooked up to the monitor and get the pitocin flowing. Lord did it come quickly! I got to 5 cm and had to have the epidural. My doctor broke my water and it was meconium stained. She ordered a flush out and it worked very well. Luckily he didn't ingest it. It was funny because I called my boyfriend telling him he had time because I was only 5 cm...oh no I went to 8 in 20 minutes and then hit 10 within the next 10. I kept my legs closed and said I refuse to have him without my boyfriend by my side. I called him at least 15 times telling him to get his a$$ here now and that he better hurry! He finally made it within the next 20 minutes. We had our boy at 2:47 PM March 10, 2016. He weighed 8 pounds 1.9 ounces at 19.5 inches. Sadly after having him I developed preeclampsia and ended up in the hospital on magnesium drip and then just over mastitis. It's been a long road. But so very much worth it.
