Food service/jobs
Okay.
So, today I saw a post about McDonalds workers, and it got me thinking:
Why do people look down on fast food workers wanting to make a living wage? It doesn't make sense to me. I'm a 19 y/o women, who works at Sonic, paid $7.75 an hour, trying to also put myself through university.
How do people think that $7.75 is enough? Makes no sense.
"Minimum skills = minimum pay" is NOT a valid argument. I cannot get another job until I graduate. Nobody else will hire me. Id prefer not to live paycheck to paycheck, but sadly I have to because minimum wage isn't shit to live off of, especially whilst trying to pay tuition.
Fast food IS hard work. I can't tell you ladies how many times I've been cursed out by a customer over GRAVY.
It's crazy to me to think that people don't want to raise min wage.
People just don't seem to understand that it is hard work. I go to class, do homework, and work every night. It's exhausting, but I can't afford to take any days off.
Sorry for the rant, but it makes me so mad.

So, how do you ladies feel about it? Is it just me?
