Breastfeeding total time during day

So my baby feeds for 7-12 mins on one breast and falls asleep for 2 hours. He will do what I call a superfeed after 9 pm where he'll feed for 1 HR until 11 pm. He's been doing this since he turned about 2 weeks old and is now 1.5 months old. Is this normal? I keep reading about how babies breastfeed from 25-40 mins and I'm concerned. Baby has been gaining weight and is 10 pounds, he poops and pees normally and the pediatrician congratulated me on that at least. According to info logged in the app, he feeds a total of 2 hours and a half to 3 hours a day. Is this enough?

My little one is only a week old but same thing with her. She only feeds from one breast per feeding and times range from 5 minutes to 20 minutes of actively nursing. Feedings are 1.5 to 3 hours apart depending on the size of her last meal.I had my first check up though and asked the doctor about it. Doctor isn't concerned because she's gaining weight (back to birth weight after 5 days) and has plenty of wet and dirty diapers. As long as those things are happening then baby is getting what she needs!

If he's gaining weight and is content I would say yes. Mine does the same thing. I think he's just a fast eater and doesn't spend time using me as a pacifier.

I actually weighed my son before and after eating yesterday and he drank 4 oz. In 10 minutes or so.

I was thinking that maybe he just ate really fast. I just don't know if he's getting anywhere from 2.5-3 oz. I've been pumping and in the morning after he feeds, one breast will give me 4 oz and in the afternoon 2.5-3 oz, so maybe he is getting enough from one breast. Thanks!

As long as your baby is making their diapers & gaining weight, I wouldn't stress too much. We did however buy an infant scale that we use to watch our daughters weight once every week or so.

I'll look for one on Amazon. Thanks!
