Condoms in wallets?

I've heard from a couple of people that keeping condoms in your wallet can be bad for the condom? I'm a firm believer in having a condom on me at all times, single or in a relationship, planning to have sex or not — it's better safe than sorry. So should I find an alternate method to store condoms to increase their longevity and effectiveness?

Keeping it in a purse, in a contained pocket to reduce the friction, etc that will weaken the condom, is definitely more reliable than a wallet. However, be sure to throw them out if they've been in there too long, been exposed to heat, been crushed, etc. No harm either in replacing them every few weeks just to be sure that you're as safe as possible!

the constant pressure/movement can deteriorate the condom. when I was using them, I always kept a few in the inside pocket of my purse, along with tampons and liners, and any other "unmentionables" haha
