Why is "female" a degrading term?

I see on here a lot when ladies think someone is doing something bad/disgusting/they're-mad-at-them, and in real life I've also noticed it spat like poison at other women... They use the term female instead of "woman" "lady" "girl"... I mean it's just the technical term, I don't get how it's an insult? Yes I am female, how is that bad?

My mothers swears that when a man refers to a woman as a female in certain context such as "I can't stand this female", "this female is always stressing me out", "these females are too much to handle" etc. that he's saying female so that he doesn't call the woman a bitch .... To me I couldn't even care less really.

I had no idea! I'm military so I'm used to it, since we use it instead of girl or whatever. If I've used it and anyone got offended I am so sorry!!

I think it's how they mean it, I've had people call me honey and I'm sure they didn't think I was really being a "honey"
