Pinching needle like sensation

Does anyone know what it is ? I looked online and although one person said it's baby's head in your birth canal lots of other moms said it doesn't mean anything. I've had a sore vag for like 2 1/2 weeks now and all of a sudden I wake up from a nap and my vag feels this burning sensation it also feels like needles poking the sides of it , I had to literally limp to the bathroom and now when I walk it burns bad (on the outside). I'm 39 weeks and 2 days pregnant, could it be a sign labor is near ?
