Alright, so I am giving my son my last name. The father of soon-to-be-arriving baby boy (Jack) has been in and out of this pregnancy so many times I've got whiplash. Today, his mother messages me via Facebook (I have never met this woman, she lives in Florida, also, I've never met his father) asking if the baby will have Jack's last name. I politely responded no, the baby will have my last name. Just as I have my mother's last name because my own father was never around. She seemed mad that I've chosen to give my son my last name because she believes the baby should have his father's name. But, to me, the father is totally irrelevant because he hasn't been around to help this whole pregnancy and honestly seems like he just doesn't care. He pretends to care. He makes excuses for everything and honestly, I'm just waiting for him to disappear.

Am I wrong in my way of thinking?
