OB pre-collect deductible?

My OB office policy is to pre-collect deductibles prior to delivery. My deductible is $600 and they want me to pay $100 per visit until my deductible is met. 
Has anyone else had to do this?

Lucky you my deductible well be $6,500 and well want $150 each visit . I wish I would of chose a better insurance plan .

They should be able to look up the amount you have left on your deductible and subtract it. The truth of the matter is that you'll most likely pay more than your deductible to them. I would look at your max out of pocket and expect to spend that amount. I know I nearly met mine when I had my son last year.

Hey ladies my deductible is $2000 and I have a question. Does copay and deductible count towards out of pocket maximum. After $2000 deductible I have to pay 30% until I meet my out of pocket max and have copay of $75 each doctor visit, $300 copay for emergency room. Does copay count towards out of pocket max. Any suggestions.

I work for an insurance company and unfortunately if that's their office policy yes.. But if u meet your deductible on other services they will owe you a reimbursement bc your deductible would have went to services elsewhere.

Me deductible for my first was $2500 & when I was in labor they asked for it. I wish they would have collected every dr visit!!!

I have a $5K deductible and $10K out of pocket maximum. 
We've don't the math and it is still the best plan financially of the 5 we can choose. And we hit the $10K every year by August. If this baby comes in December we won't pay a dime. 😉

I've heard of OBs requiring payment upfront. I'm not sure what the rationale is for it. But I've also heard of s lot of ladies working something out of they don't agree with upfront payment. Worth a try!

I worked at a physical therapy office who did this, so it is common. I don't think there's much they can do if you don't pay it. Ask for a printed itemized bill. We had patients say they wouldn't pay a dime until it processed through the insurance company.

Holy cow! I haven't heard of anything like that at all. They never want anything from me at the office. I'm just waiting for a giant bill in the mail haha.
