Newborn clothing necessities? Help

So unfortunately for my baby shower I received a lot of cute clothes ranging from 0 to 3 months or 3 to 6 months. I do have a good amount of onesies... I think.

I have a couple pieces of clothing in newborn size. My question is what do I really need clothing wise for the first 6 weeks? My baby will be born May 31st in Arizona, so it will be warm.

Honestly, if you live someplace warm the only things you'll really need are maybe onesies and very light muslin swaddle blanket's. If you want to dress your baby up to go out somewhere, cute little bubble rompers are easy and adorable.

My daughter was born August 2014 in Safford Arizona she wore dresses onesies pants sleepers mittens basicallyall very light airy clothing our apartment though had A/C we brought her home in a sleeper and a hat with a blanket over her lap and a cover over the carseat to protect her from dust. Its all up to you mommas what your comfortable putting her in. I just say light airy clothes if you can.

Depending on size of newborn NB clothes are essential. I listened to everybody and bought 0-3, then when my baby came early/smaller than expected we had 0 clotges that fit. At 6 weeks ,my baby who was born at 6 pounds , Now 9 , still has lots of room and newborn clothes. If nothing else buy a handful of newborn onesies and one-piece sleepers , and stretchy pants to have on hand. If you're concerned that they won't get much use , buy used. Running out to buy baby clothes the day you get home from the hospital , totally sucks.

Depending on the size of your baby, you may not need much newborn stuff. A 6 lb baby probably would wear newborn for a few weeks, an 8lb baby usually either doesn't fit in them or outgrows them very quickly.

I'm due in the heat of summer so the only newborn clothes I got were short sleeve onesies and shirts. I don't expect to need anymore that, honestly.

Grab some onesies, socks, and hats and you should be good to go. You might also pick up a couple of pairs of pants or sleepers for nighttime.

Carters online has rompers and dresses for $4.60 right now! I bought 3 or 4 in newborn and 3 or 4 in 3 months! Also Kohls (the one I go to in Mesa) had long sleeve sleepers buy one get one 50% off so I got 2 newborn and 2 3 months.  This is my third baby, my first was in newborn clothes for maybe a week or 2. My second was in newborn clothes for 3 months lol.  It's hard to tell how much you'll need but you definitely don't need a ton of newborn sized stuff!

Plain white onesies, socks, and nightgowns/ sleepsacks. That's what my baby spends most of his time in if we are at home.
