Dying over black dyed hair..?

Is there any product you can use that's effective in dying dyed black hair? I want to dye my hair a reddish auburn and was leaning toward l'oreal mega reds but idk if it'll turn up..is there anything I can use to dye my hair the color I want without bleaching?

I just wanted to update you all..I purchased color oops and it took the black right out!♡ my hair didn't go back to its original color, which is a very dark brown, it's actually lighter but I'm pleased :) its different from what im used too but now tomorrow I can dye my hair...I'm not sure I will yet though I'm enjoying this color:) lol thanks for all the help guys :)!!!♡😙

I used a product called oops to go from black to red, had to use it twice but it came out good

If your is is black n wanted to dye reddish go to Sallys & there"s loreal redish hair for black the products are good n you will need a developer . It will take it even tho your hair is black

I did my hair a bunch of times black.. and ended up always turning it back to red without bleaching it. I don't like bleaching my hair. I just always brought the brightest red that I liked because I always knew it would never come as bright as the box.

I was 16 in these photos, but I have done my hair since I was 14, it's is WAYYY longer than this now. I went from jet black to this color with color oops. It's definitely possible with color oops lol, just take really good care of your hair. Stay away from heat for a while,do oil treatments and take hair vitamins. My hair wasn't the healthiest after this.

I promise you this works!! Crush up about ten vitamin C tablets and mix them with some cheap shampoo or if you have it anti dandruff shampoo. Wet ur hair and massage the mixture in. Cover ur head with a plastic bag and a towel to keep it warm and leave for about an hour. Then rinse and condition well. You will notice the results when it's drying. It sounds weird and I was unsure but it really works!! I did mine 3 times over three weeks to strip a horrible dark red so I could go back blonde.

You'll have to strip your hair first and it'll probably takes a few rounds of stripping before your hair is light enough/the metallics are out enough to take and hold color. You'll go through the orange/copper stage no matter what, if it's completely black it'll probably take 3 strips, maybe more. Going from black to a light color is hard and hard on your hair especially with boxed colors and the metallics used. It takes time. Also, because of the metallics used in box colors your hair is easier to fry when processing.

No, you will have to strip your hair. I dyed my hair a very dark black cherry color when I was younger and I had to strip it twice to remove the color and my hair was still an unsightly orange color LOL but I was able to do dye after that.

It probably won't, Iv tried many times but what does work is the stuff you can buy that removes hair dye and then dye it the colour of your choice. Bare in mind it's not great for your hair and the stuff I used absolutely stank whenever I got my hair wet for ages afterwards! Apart from that it was good XD (it worked for me and Iv dyed my hair so many times with dark colours/black) :)
