Stupid FTM question - do you need to bring stroller to take baby home?

Ok this is a dumb question but I have no friends that have been pregnant before so my reference points are zero!

- I know you need a car seat to take the baby home but do you need a stroller as well? Or does your partner just carry the car seat with baby in it? Also do they give you a wheelchair to get to the car? Thank you for any help!

You don't need a stroller.  Typically they will send a nurse down to help wheel your wheelchair to the hospital exit while partner (or whoever is accompanying you to the car) carries baby in car seat.  My nurse waited with me and baby while my husband brought the car around too.  We didn't use the stroller until a few days later when we went on our first little neighborhood walk.

My hubby just carried the car seat to the car with my first child. The hospital I delivered at had wheelchairs & they took us to our car

You won't need to have one there unless you lived close enough you wanted to walk home instead of driving.

No you are not required to bring a stroller. I would suggest bringing one if you are the only one bringing the baby home. Since lifting the baby and the car seat might be hard after Labor and Delivery.... but then again unloading and loading a stroller from your car may be hard to.
