No pain, no gain... IUDs are they hell or heaven?

What actually happens when you get an IUD:
Let's chit chat my lady friends! I, my seventeen year old self, set out to get an IUD a couple days ago... So that is practically how my story starts and ends. Most painful experience of my life hands down, but I haven't stuck with it for long enough to see the gain. I got the three year progesterone Skyla because how violently my body reacted to hormone based birth control! Before the procedure your gyno will test for pregnancy or stds. Inserting skyla when pregnant will terminate the pregnancy and if you have an std or sti in your vagina putting it into your cervix probably won't help... 😁 so once I took the 2 pills that open the cervix a little I waited patiently for three hours and hauled ass to the gyno. They immediately put you in the stirrups and use a bunch of tools to open your vagina and cervix. Let's just say that if you have never been pregnant before the whole cervix part... Ain't no rodeo cowboy. Once the skyla was inserted it flies up into the uterus and opens into a T shape, hitting the top of your uterus. Quite a delightful experience I do say. Post insertion I was in screaming pain. This may however been from the fact that I was on the first day of my cycle (if you haven't been pregnant yet they'll do it when you're on your period) and I proceeded to pass out. I had violent contractions in my uterus and I have still have them to this day. Since I have never been pregnant my uterus is basically saying get the hell out and trying to push out the Skyla. Where only 4% of women's uterus' actually expel the birth control... Mine just thinks it's a enemy. So once I went in for a check up my doctor said to make nice and I was sent off with a prescription for 800 mg of Motrin. Last but not least this device does not only do these SOBs make your body have pregnancy contractions but I've been constipated since the damn thing went in! All in all make sure to talk to your gynecologist about all the possible side effects and how it really will feel... Because I for one was never told or informed about any of this and I really wish I would have. Feel free to comment any positive experiences below so I can live through you or so we don't scare people off! Protecting yourself from pregnancy is important!
