Cheap Pregnancy tests- reliable??

I see on here that a lot of ladies use the $1 pregnancy tests. I have been hesitant to buy them because I don't know if they are reliable. Has anyone had an experience with them being unreliable--- mainly showing a positive when it shouldn't?

A girlfriend of mine at work got a positive on a $1 pregnancy test while the doctors office gave her a negative. She took another $1 that said another positive and went back.. They took her blood this time and it was true. She was pregnant.

My OBGYN's office uses the 88¢ purple and white tests from Walmart. I took 3 of those at home to make sure it would show up on them when I go. 2 perfectly dark lines. I used FRER initially..

I got my positives on mine and am now 31 weeks. Tests have to be a certain level to be allowed on shelves, which they are.

I always used them and i always found them MORE reliable than anything else tbh
