Hospital Visit after Baby's Born?

What is the norm for this? Do you allow visitors right away? Wait a day .. I'm just curious what other moms are doing?

We had people coming while I was in labor (I was induced) and I was fine with that but everyone left the room when it was time to push so it was just me and my husband. Then after we spent like an hour with him and let our family and friends in the waiting room see our little boy and just had visitors nonstop while there. We enjoyed having people there the whole time cause it made labor go faster and we got to show off our little cutie. When we have our next child were going to do the same thing.

I'm not. I don't want to see anybody until we're home and I invite them.

It really depends on how you feel after . Which most likely you'll be exhausted and won't want to see anybody lol I plan on letting my family come see me and baby the day after .

I had people visit as I was being induced. But as soon as he was born I didn't have no one till the 2nd day. My son was born with low blood sugar so as soon as he was born the took him and had him on observation for 24 hors then I finally got him the next day.

We waited 2 hours and even then we only told my in laws and my best friend they could come that night. My mom was already there since she was in the room. Everyone else came the next day. We also didn't tell anyone until she was born so there was no way they could've come before we were ready.

It always depended on when we had baby. If born during the day then we asked people to wait till the next day so we could rest. We also had one daughter that was a NICU baby and told people no visitors for me since I wanted to be with her and thankfully NICU doesn't allow visitors unless pre-approved. This time we will ask for a few hours of rest after baby comes...unless they bring me coffee and food then I'll welcome them gladly. Lol.
