Travel with an 8 month old....

So my husband and I are standing up in our close friends wedding this October. Our son will be 8 months old. The wedding is 15 hours away in our hometown. We plan to rent a minivan during the trip and will be gone a week. Tell me about your experiences traveling with your babies. What's better driving or flying?
