I totally recommend a home birth! I cannot imagine having hard labor and pushing without the help of a birthing pool! It helped relieve pressure during the hard contractions! I also felt very comfortable and supported by my midwife throughout the entire pregnancy and birth. She was there for 10 hours of my labor and 2 hours post partum! Being at home was very calming and created a relaxed atmosphere! Midwives have to go through training and testing to do their job and are very competent! I felt like she could take care of anything that would arise during the birth!

Ladies who have done a water birth please share your likes and dislikes if you could !! I'm gravitating towards a water birth as my plan but haven't heard much feedback about them ! Thank you !:)

We have 3 midwives (their company actually sells their amazing birth pools in the states too - Passages Midwifery) and we are having an at home water birth. My last labour 13 years ago wasn't nice; induced, fast and furious, stacked contractions, epidural, people watching I didn't even know their name - awful. I wanted to be respected and honoured during my labour, I wanted peace to bring my child into. We couldn't be more excited but I must admit I'm nervous. Thanks for sharing this, it helps to know so many women have done this before me and the water truly helps. Congratulations on your beautiful bundles!

I'm in Alberta Canada so our government luckily covers the cost. I'm responsible for getting a home birth kit together (blankets, depends, ky jelly, incontinence pads, a drop sheet for the tub) but other than that it's free. It used to cost around $4000 before our gov came to their senses.

I had a c section with my first and the home birth is by far way less expensive. my midwife provided the pool and most of the items needed for the birth.

Is it expensive to do a home birth/ water birth? I've always wanted to but I'm high risk. And I've heard it's really expensive

I used hypnobabies for our home water birth and my midwife used clary sage & Valor along my spine. I would Reccomended it to everyone!

I used clary sage oil topically to ease the pain and a mix called peace and calming in a diffuser and in the water in our tub
