Induction tonight!

Second pregnancy and I'm currently 39+3, was told Friday that my cervix was soft but only dilated 1cm and baby is still not engaged enough. Then I had another check up today with ultrasound and it turns out baby's measuring 9 pounds 8 oz!! Doc immediately changed her mind and said even though baby's still not engaged she wants to move forward for an induction. Anyone have a similar experience, did your induction go smoothly or am I headed for a painful process?
