My boyfriend threatened me

Me and my boyfriend have been together nearly 4 years and we just got our first place together after living with his parents for a year. Since we moved he's been getting more and more aggressive towards me, yesterday his dad was here and even though he was cross at his dad and not me he still squeezed my fingers until they were really painful despite me nudging him to stop. Today we got into an argument about his aggressive tone again and he threw a bad on the bed and the metal latch caught my leg so I threw it back at him, he nearly immediately got up and pushed my head down, pulling a lot of my hair loose (a lot more than normal came out in the shower) but he's adamant I'm just as bad for hurting him to try to get him off me? We got into another fight this evening and even though it wasn't physical he threatened to hit me and drag me upstairs, saying that if he really wanted to hurt me he could.
