Induction if baby doesn't come by due date?

I am due 4/27 and last week at my appt my dr. said if I do not deliver by 5/4 she would like to induce me. At the time I didn't give it much thought thinking the baby would be here right on time.. But now I realize my husband has his final exam of nursing school on 5/5 (which he needs to do fairly well on). I am torn what to do if baby doesn't come this week. Should I ask my dr. to not induce until after 5/5 (knowing baby may have his own plans by then!) or ask to potentially be induced by this weekend if he doesn't come on his own? I'm so torn 😕😕😕
