Is your bf stingy sometimes?

Sometimes I feel like my boyfriend can be very stingy with money and many other things . If we go out he'll pay but then complain about how much money he spent. He has a job , I dont. I had one but I quit (personal reasons) and sometimes he'll expect me to pay. My dad will give me money sometimes but i feel like my bf will take advantage of it.Ive always disliked stingy people because I love to share. It makes me feel good when I do but I don't like to be taken advantage of.  anyone feel like their bf can be stingy too?

I am that way at times with my boyfriend because I am the one that is always paying for everything. He doesn't have a job and isn't even doing a good job looking for one. It just bothers me because it feels like he is just using me for buying him food and stuff all the time. I don't consider myself stingy though, I am always paying for my friends and him when we go out. But it just got to the point where I just really want him to get a job and help out since we live together.  So maybe you should try to get a job if you can, to just help out a little bit and try talking to him about it. He shouldn't complain though when he is offering to take you out to eat, that just isn't fair.

If he doesn't want to pay don't make him. If he feels like he can't afford it make him a nice dinner at home and rent a redbox or something.

I know you said you quit your job for personal reasons but since you're not married he's allowed to be stingy because it's HIS money. He can spend it how he sees fit. When you have your own job and money you can spend it how you see fit and maybe you can pay for him for a while because he's paid for you so much. I know I know the whole chivalry thing but in this day and age I think it's closer to even than it's ever been and the women should contribute as well..

It's nice of your dad to give you money but you are right, your dad shouldn't have to pay for your dates with your boyfriend

My husband isn't stingy at all, even when we were dating.  He makes more money then me so it only makes sense that he pays more often (except now that we're married, all our money is combined so it isn't really "his" or "mine")

My boyfriend eclipses my pay by a lot. He makes six figures as a contractor while I make what I make as an E-3 in the military. He won't let me pay for anything. Whenever we go out to eat, or to a movie - he pays. It makes me feel bad, but he says he enjoys taking care of me.

His money is our money, and my money is my money. JK!!! My husbands not stingy. We both work and get paid pretty well. Sometimes he pays, sometimes I pay. We have personal accounts as well as a joint account that we put money in for bills, holidays, savings, etc.....

We share everything. His money is my  money, my money is his money type of thing. We take eachother out and everything is equal. We're basically married lol

My partner can be stingy some times. Mainly about buying little extra things for the house (that he feels we don't need haha).

I started my new job in October and don't get paid until the end of this month. It's killing me! Can't wait to be able to buy everything I have been eyeing up haha.
