Gerber Rice Cereal??

Question

My pediatrician told me to mix some rice cereal with my daughters bottles because of serious spitting up and reflux. Does anyone have experience with Gerber Rice Cereal with DHA and Probiotics (it's different from the regular rice cereal)? Is it okay to mix with formula (as formula also has DHA)? Did it cause any constipation or diarrhea? I'm waiting on a call back from the pediatrician, but just wanted some mommy advice! :)

I put baby rice in both my kids bottles. It helped my Bay girl sleep better and helped with the spitting up.She is now 8. My son is 7 weeks now nd I've been giving to him since he was 4 weeks he would spit up horribly out his nose and everything. He spit up a little but it's a huge step from how he use to be. I use my formula scooper and do 2 scoops for 6 nd 8 oz nd 1 scoop for 4oz I never know what my son is going to eat lol

Hey! We put rice cereal in my son's formula because he had reflux so bad. He's 4 now and we are one step away from adding it to my newborn's formula as well! It worked wonders for him!! I don't remember what type we used, but there were no adverse affects that I can remember. He did put on weight a little quicker because of the added calories, but it wasn't too much and my pediatrician was never worried about it. If you do decide to add it in, you'll want to look into getting size 2 or 3 nipples because it'll be hard to get the thicker formula out of the size 1 nipples. All 3 of my babies have had reflux and it was by far the worst with my second, the one we gave rice cereal to and it really helped! Hopefully it works for you as well! I did the same thing Megan described. I added it to my little ones formula because they have Bad acid reflux and other gastro issues. Will be starting a little bit of cereal on my 8 week old real soon since none of the meds they prescribed him worked. Still throwing up way to much
