My 3 Year Old Son Acts Strange To Me 😕

Savannah
My precious Colt turned 3 a couple weeks ago! I love him to death. He can be so sweet and adorable and then other times.... I'm like, wtf? Lol. I'm not sure if the way he acts is normal or not, he's the first boy born in my family in 23 years. A lot of people say he's just bored, or he's just a boy, but dang! Some of the things he does. For one, it's hard for him to comprehend things. He won't be still long enough to be interested in learning. My daughter knew her colors and ABCs at this age, but my son can't focus, and he still isn't potty-trained. I've tried everything, the aim at the cheerio or fruit loop, pee outside on a tire, ask him frequently if he has to go, put him in undies so he can feel that he won't like the wet feeling, nothing works. And you can tell him 500 times a day to do or not do something and he doesn't listen... It's hard to take him to restaurants because he doesn't want to sit there, he wants to crawl on the floor or flop around the seat, oh and his CAR SEAT! He will completely unbuckle it from the car while I'm driving. Once I had to pull over 5 times within a 3 mile drive to fix his seat because he kept undoing it. And he runs from me. When I go to buckle him in the car, if I don't keep my hand on him the whole time he runs away and hides under parked cars in our driveway (my husband works on cars for people at home for extra money) and at one time I believed in "spanking" but he's young, so I tried popping him on his bottom, NEVER worked. He laughs at me. So I am starting to think he has a learning disability or something.. And around large crowds or new people he acts like a puppy, he will crawl around and lick the ground. It's kind of embarrassing but mainly ticks me off when I get the weird looks from people in public. I worked in a daycare and I don't remember one 3 year old boy that acts the way my son does... Just venting, I don't think it's normal, some days I simply can't handle it and I feel bad for him at the same time. Does any other momma have these kind of issues?
