Uncalled Remark By Police officer? Help!

Hey ladies! I am a 17 year old Hispanic Female and I have the opportunity to take classes taught by real Police Officers. Today an Officer told my class a story about how another Officer had let 3 Mexicans out of a car and the 3 Mexicans started talking about taking the Officer down in Spanish. As soon as he said that he looks right at me and says "You should know exactly what I mean." As soon as he said that the two girls next me gasped in shock. I was honestly kinda confused, I don't really take it too personal but do you think that comment was uncalled for?
