Forced to be a father
So I was watching Dr. Phil and there was a guy on there basically who went to the court system because he was in a relationship with a young woman who claimed to him that she cannot get pregnant because of a medical condition and was also on the pill for other reasons but somehow got pregnant with his child. Because in this country women now have a right to decide whether to keep the child or not (abortion) she made that decision and kept the child. The young man did not want to child and was not ready to be a father and felt he did not make a decision on it or was not given a choice. And ontop of that was misled in some way. Now technically he doesn't have to be in the child's life so he does have a choice in some way but she got him with child support and he pays $500 a month in child support and felt like he had no choice at all in the matter. So I guess this guy was in the news or in papers and tried to go to the courts multiple times about it and all that. Personally I think we all know it's not the child's fault and it is his biological child so many will say it's his obligation to at least pay for child support. But it brought up a good question. Women do indeed have a choice right? A lot of women on here state they are pro-choice and women should be able to choose whether or not they have an abortion or keep the baby. So what about men? I do find it interesting that he doesn't have a choice he now has to pay $500 a month and it was basically left completely up to her. I understand it's her body and her choice but where is the man left in the situation? I guess he basically doesn't have one?
