Menstrual cups??

Question

I think i want to try them but just curious how they work. Is it like putting in a tampon? Will it be messy? Which bramd would you recommend i start with?

I just bought the Diva Cup today. So far so good. No leaks and it's been about 6 hours. It doesn't feel like it's in there at all. Wasn't hard to insert, just have to make sure it opens fully while inside or it is uncomfortable. It is my first time using it so I have a liner on just in case. Like I said though, so far so good :) I'd recommend it. Like someone said, they sell disposable softcups in a 12 pack if you wanted to try something similar before spending the $40 on a nice cup.

Using menstrual cups changed my freaking life. They aren't like a tampon, but they are easy to use. There are different types, but in all cases you'll be folding a soft silicone ring and pushing it up against your cervix. Which sounds scary! But seriously, it's so nice only having to empty it every 12 hours. Grab a box of Softcups and give them  a try, I will never use tampons again.

I use the softcups and love them!! But, word of advice, first time you take one out, do it in the shower! It was like a bloody massacre!  After you get the hang of it though, it's no big deal!

Also, if you find that you like using them you can invest in one really nice cup that you can use forever! Mooncup is probably the one I hear the most good things about :)

I've never used one but I've heard if you put it in wrong it can be really messy. They have these new underwear called thinx and you just where the underwear no pad or tampon and apparently they work pretty well too, they have a website if you wanted to check those out
