Are diaper sizes accurate!?

I am just wondering if diaper sizes are accurate?? I've noticed that the sizes for baby clothes are way off! Since my son is turning 6 months tomorrow and can wear sizes 12-18 month...

Right now he is wearing size 3 in underwear...

I'm just curious as to other mom experiences with diaper sizes if the diapers were sizes accurately...

My LO was in size 1 diapers until she was about 4 months. Now she's almost five months and only in size 2s.

Diaper sizes are by a weight range. Each brand has their own sizing, but they are all generally the same. When my daughter was in a three, but in the heavier side, she could have worn a four on the lighter side. She was in size 3s for a very long time and the same goes for size 4s. As the baby gets older they put on weight slower so they will stay in one size longer.

As for the clothes, it just depends on how they are cut. My daughter is 17 months and 12 month clothes are just now getting too small. However, 18 month clothes are still very large on her. :)

Most definitely not. My kiddo got my huge ass and thighs and went through the sizes faster than kids that weighed more than her.

My son wore size 1 until he was about 4 months, he is now 16-17 pounds and 6 months wearing size two! He has a little waste and very tall and skinny( not bad skinny tho)

It all depends on the brand of the diapers just like with clothes, my son fits certain brands great with his size but in other brands his size runs smaller or too big

Generally diapers have been accurate for our baby, but some brands (Honest Company) run small.

My son is 8 months. Weighs 21 pounds and almost out grown a size 4. It all depends on how they are built. He is also in 12 month clothes.
