Can BC delay your period?

According to the app/my calendar, I was suppose to get my period for November yesterday on the 12th (Wed). But on Monday, the 10th, I started taking birth control pills... Does it delay your period? Did I mess my cycles up? ??? i'm scared

Yes I think you did because that's what I've done. Your supposed to start BC right after your period ends. I didn't I started 2 weeks before my period due date I already have 40 day cycles so now I'm 1 week overdue and I still have 1 more week before the white pills. According to my pills (yaz) it says my period will start when I take the white sugar pills because its coming off the hormone that jump starts period. It helps regulate period to 27 days. So your period will come when you reach white pills.
