When to go

Question

Did all of you mommies rush to the hospital as soon as contractions started or did you wait at home a little longer maybe even showered and got some other stuff ready at home ? With my first I rushed to the hospital and was only 4 cm but this time I'd feel like I'd like to be at home a little longer opinions

I labored at home
I did some squats bounced on my yoga ball
Went to the grocery store 
(Walking)
Went to subway and ate
Took a warm shower cleaned the house
I went about my day like any other day

At the end I tried to rest lay down and take a nap but that's when I knew that was it and I had to go 
I felt it the most when I would lay down

I went in when my contractions got to every three minutes. That was about twelve hours after I felt the first one. It was about perfect - I was at eight centimeters and I spent two hours walking and one hour pushing and there she was.

This is baby 3 for us, we plan on going straight in. My last labor and pushing was 2 hours. 
I've been having episodes of 10 or more contractions that start out close together 1-2min apart but then fade off after 45 minutes. When I get that intuition to go into L&D we will just go.

I'll be a first time mom and I'm planning on going when contractions are somewhat close and increase in intensity. I don't want to go when they first begin....but I don't want to wait until there 5-10 mins apart either. We are about 10 mins away from our hospital. I'm hoping to take a shower before hand...and do my hair and make up! Lol that's my perfect plan.....however....I might panic at my very first little twinge of a contraction and run out the door too. Lol

My hospital is 30 min away. And it's my fourth so I'll wait it out some but I'm afraid to wait to long. I have a way of somehow going from 4 cm to 10 cm with a short period of time...

I started at 330 had a bath,and in just three hrs was fully dilated and needed to push, we made it to hospital just in time bubs was crowning in the carpark! Born 3 pushes later 😄

My water broke before I had any contractions. I took a shower, then my Ob told me to head in. My contractions started on the way to the hospital, and baby was born 10 hours later. If my water doesn't break this time, I will likely stay home a bit longer.

With my first i was induced. If i start getting contractions i will wait a little bit. For one i will have to wait for my in laws to get here, they live about an hour away. And two if its in the evening my husband works nights so i will have to wait for him to get home also...(he only works like 10 minutes away) but i want to stay out of the hospital as long as i can. The hospital is 7 minutes away
