Am I overreacting or is this a legitimate reason to get worried ? I just want answers please !!

Question

I am 18 years old, got accepted to the university of my dreams and am not planning to have a baby at this point in my life...

Recently (a month & a week and a half ago or early February) I started using birth control. A week after starting I became sexually active for the first time.

This week, Sunday and Tuesday, my significant other finished inside me and I am worried about the possible outcome that I will be pregnant. I haven't missed a pill at all but it has only been several times that I took it at random parts of the day and not the usual time....(it was once last week I took it not on time and the other times I can't remember when)

Overall I need reassurance or an idea or an answer of if I am ok or not. Also I was planning to buy Plan B but it is expencive, so before I actually bought it I thought to write this.

If you don't take your pill at the same time each day, the effectiveness does go down.

It's suggested to use a back up method for the first three months when using the pill to let it reach its maximum effectiveness. Also, not taking it at the same time every day decreases the effectiveness. I would say your chances of being pregnant are slim, but if you really don't want a baby, make sure to take your birth control at the same time every day. If that's not a possibility, consider switching to another kind of birth control.

Set an alarm or keep a sticky note on your rear view mirror in your car and/or bathroom mirror that says "BIRTH CONTROL", so u wont forget. Keep it in your purse, so you'll have it no matter where u go! It's important to keep it at least around the same time of day, if not the exact same time. Go to the bathroom right after you guys have sex, pee, and "push" the excess sperm out of u if need be. All plan B is, is a high dose of birth control pills essentially, so maybe get an extra pack to keep on hand  (take 3 to be safe - if that'd be the same dosage for the plan B). Try the pull out method -- although it's fabulous to "finish" together, if u want to avoid pregnancy you should really take every precaution necessary.

I think you're fine... But if you really don't want a kid and want a guarantee your not pregnant, buy a plan b pill! The pill is so much cheaper then a kid anyway. :p Personally I'm on the pill, take it everyday at the same time, let my boyfriend finish in me and I've never been pregnant. Good luck!
